Super Llama: Llamas are awesome! (11)
My Bio
Currently an amatuer photographer and camera salesman. I'm lucky in that I get to borrow demo gear from work, so I have access to much better equipment than I deserve.

Anyways, I mostly do nature photography. Never people. I spend my time in the summers doing wildlife, and fall or spring is spent doing landscapes. I do try to sneak some macro work in when I can.

This past Monday, my boss was kind enough to let me borrow a 200-400 f/4 VR2 from work for the weekend (my weekend is Sunday/Monday). So, 3:30 in the morning on Monday comes around, and I found myself not wanting to get up. After some wondering, and trying to figure out how I would justify borrowing such a lens and not shooting with it, I drug myself down to the car and got on the road. 5:30 comes around, and I'm driving through Kaninaskis when I come around a corner to find a mother grizzly and her cub grazing in the ditch. So, I parked, shut the engine off, then spent the next hour standing out through the sunroof, watching them graze and

Well, its that time of year again. Back to getting up at 3:30am to drive out to the mountains and go chasing bears and other wildlife. More camping out next to Osprey nests, waiting for a parent to return with a fish. And more sunburns, bug bites and incidents of asking myself if I should run. And you know what? It'll all be worth it.

So I'm loosely working on a few different things right now. Mostly trying to get out shooting. I did manage to get out tonight and, since I borrowed the new 16-35 f/4 Nikon from work, I figured I should at least attempt to shoot the city at night. While I was aware, at least academically, that Calgary has way too many huge houses, I didn't wholly realise that until tonight. After an hour and a half of trekking through the Mount Royal neighbourhood, I managed to find one street that didn't have unholy large houses on it, and succeeded in taking a few indecent shots. I think I'm just going to stick to shooting upwards with wide angles from now
